10 years!

January 3rd marked the ten year gotcha anniversary for NeVaeh!!

Wow how time flies and how she's grown.
When we brought her home she was just a little bitty girl. We concentrated on trying to get her to attend to a task for just a minute...then a little longer. She had just taken her first steps when we met her in December and she was now going to be 3 in March. We were over the world in excitement bringing our baby home. We worked on sign language and got her set up with therapies and school...who would have though someone so little needed to get schooling. She learned a lot her sign language advances even today. The school introduced PEC symbols and her communication was enhanced.

Through the years she has learned so many things. When she was 8 my mom bought her an iPad and we took her out to speech at Sanford. She learned how to use the iPad for communication with the Talk Tablet app. Her world just opened up into a new era!

We have expanded her vocabulary and added the talk tablet to an ipod and her computer to give her all the benefits of communication she can get.

She is always our happy go lucky girl. Loves to go..to school, out to eat, Shopping, and her favorite is swimming. Yes a couple years ago she actually started swimming on her own without help. Awesome! she's got one up on Mama who cant swim.
This month she had a magnet implanted behind her left ear and after it heals she will be fit for a BAHA. That's scheduled March 6th. Its a Bone Anchored Hearing Aid. Her world will be louder!! She is deaf in her left ear.

We love our dear daughter and are blessed to have her in our lives!!!

Christmas

The sesason started  with the kids putting up the tree. They do it every year....its become a tradition.

We had a good Christmas. We celebrated at home Christmas Eve. The kids all had a blast and got quite spoiled.

We celebrated Christmas Day with Dans family. Lots of fun and socialization had.

We Celebrated Christmas with my family New Year's Day. It was also great. It is a special day since New Year's Day was my moms birthday. We have fun but it's just not the same without her there! (Or Paul and Dad)

We got wonderful news that Laura and David are expecting!!

Guess the season is over when goofball and silly girl take down the tree...don't know if the tree will be the same next year. :O
